Bristol Myers Squibb has been operating in Ireland since 1964, employing over 650 people across various activities and business units.
Ireland is home to External Manufacturing's global headquarters, which manages manufacturing contract operations and ensures a reliable product supply to the global network.
This includes managing third-party contract manufacturers and internal manufacturing sites. In Ireland, External Manufacturing has two sites: Global Headquarters in Dublin 15 and a distribution centre in Shannon, Co Clare.
The Role
We are seeking a permanent Manager, Inventory Controller for BMS External Manufacturing.
Position Summary
Inventory control for management, oversight and reporting of all External Manufacturing owned inventory at internal and external locations and third-party warehouses.
Key Responsibilities
* Monitor and oversee inventories, ensuring accurate risk and ageing review, updated inventory system and control.
* Present cases to the Material Review Board for decision-making and Product Accountability and Disposal Management processes, ensuring compliance with Standard Operating Procedures.
* Request financial provisions and accurately maintain them as outcomes from the Material Review Board, including inventory at risk and projections.
* Manage excess and obsolete inventory.
* Facilitate a cost recovery program for excess inventory.
* Proactively capture inventory issues and implement solutions after consultation with relevant business leaders.
* Ensure SAP inventory movements and adjustments are up-to-date.
* Report on projected inventory levels versus actual and budgeted inventory levels across all inventory types, supporting the Global Inventory Team for projections and budget.
* Ensure annual cycle count scoping documents are in place and participate in inventory audits and cycle counts as required.
* Perform investigations and gap analysis as necessary.
* Review and challenge business processes, developing and enforcing Standard Operating Procedures as needed.
* Analyse stockholding data, gather critical information to support decision-making and create awareness among stakeholders to take mitigation action.
* Have oversight responsibility to ensure ExM inventory data is maintained through robust processes.
* Establish strong working relationships with key stakeholders and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
* Project inventory ending balance to support planning processes.
* Assist with other ad-hoc functions as required and assigned by the Manager.
* Implement continuous improvement initiatives: identify opportunities for process improvements, implement best practices and drive efficiency in inventory control processes.
* Support BMS business continuity programs on inventory movement and return for project allocation.
* Support relevant IT projects on systems integration and updates.
* Support queries related to tolling reconciliation and other stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience
We seek a candidate with:
* Degree in Supply Chain Management or Finance, APICS.
* Experience working in Supply Chain in large multinational and pharmaceutical industries.
* SAP knowledge is mandatory.
* Knowledge of cost and/or inventory accounting principles is preferred.
Key Competencies required
* Understanding of pharmaceutical product lifecycle and obsolescence in pharmaceutical manufacturing operations.
* Strong background in inventory management in complex, multi-site organisations.
* Excellent analytical and PC applications knowledge, e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.
* Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
* Good understanding of business-specific organisations, functions, and business support systems (Manufacturing, Packaging, Artwork, Regulatory, Marketing, Quality Control / Quality Assurance and Supply Chain).
* Ability to work effectively with diverse groups and organisations.
* Capable of interacting with key decision-makers in Manufacturing, Technology, Quality, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, Legal and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS).
* Preferably involved or worked on process reengineering/redesigning.
