Experience: 2+ years
Our client is a well-established Irish Civil contractor who has a strong pipeline of both private and public projects, mainly in Dublin and the Leinster region.
They are seeking Site Engineers with civil experience at all levels of experience, responsible for seeing each phase of a particular project through to completion.
Responsibilities:
1. Read and understand the Company’s Safety Statement and ensure that it is communicated to any employee under your control.
2. Ensure that information affecting the health and safety of any person on a proposed site is brought to the attention of the Regional Director/Project Manager/Site Agent.
3. Report to Site Manager any unsafe situation observed while on site.
4. Carry out work in a safe manner, take precautions when working on or near public roads or water, and wear necessary protective clothing or equipment.
5. Maintain records of any underground services laid on site and define them by marker posts and signs during the construction period.
6. Ensure design calculations/temporary works certificates for bespoke scaffolds, falsework, etc., are independently checked.
7. Assume the temporary role of Project Manager/Site Agent regarding Health and Safety and Environmental Issues if absent.
8. Familiarize with the company's HSQE management systems and current statutory requirements in relation to HSE Legislation.
9. Understand the Form of Contract on the Project and implications of any variation or change orders on the program and costs.
10. Check/understand Specifications, Drawings, and other Contract Documents.
11. Set out, level, and survey the site in accordance with the Drawings and Specification.
12. Prepare As-built drawings, technical reports, and site diary.
13. Liaise with the purchasing department to ensure purchase orders adequately define specified requirements.
14. Requisition materials and plant.
15. Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, site supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors, and the general workforce involved in the project.
16. Manage the site day-to-day, supervising and monitoring the site labor force and subcontractors.
17. Plan the work and efficiently organize the plant and site facilities to meet program deadlines.
18. Liaise with the Project Manager/planner regarding construction program and constraints.
19. Ensure compliance with all safety requirements.
20. Resolve technical issues with employer’s representatives, suppliers, subcontractors, and statutory authorities.
21. Conduct quality control in accordance with company procedures, method statements, quality plans, and inspection and test plans.
22. Check materials and work in progress for compliance with specified requirements.
Requirements:
1. Degree/Diploma-qualified in Civil Engineering or Geo-surveying.
2. A member of the relevant Professional Institution.
3. Relevant civil construction experience and performance on similar projects.
4. Minimum 2+ years experience.
5. Options available for Intermediate and Senior Civil Engineers.
Package:
€45K-€65K per annum, negotiable for the right person.
