Our client, a well-known 4-star hotel in Wexford, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Sous Chef to join their talented kitchen team.
As the second-in-command in the kitchen, you will work closely with the Head Chef to oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring the delivery of exceptional food quality and service that exceeds guest expectations.
Some of your responsibilities: Assist the Head Chef in planning, organizing, and managing daily kitchen operations.
Supervise, mentor, and inspire kitchen staff to deliver consistent, high-quality dishes.
Ensure that all food is prepared to the highest standards, maintaining consistency in taste, presentation, and quality.
Collaborate with the Head Chef in creating seasonal menus, special offerings, and new dishes.
Oversee food preparation and ensure the efficient flow of service during busy periods.
Monitor inventory levels, order supplies as needed, and minimize waste while controlling costs.
Ensure strict adherence to food hygiene, safety, and sanitation standards.
Maintain compliance with all HACCP protocols and hotel policies.
Assist in recruiting, training, and developing kitchen staff to create a motivated and skilled team.
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and a passion for culinary excellence.
Ideal candidate will have: Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie in a 4- or 5-star hotel or fine dining restaurant.
Exceptional knowledge of culinary techniques, food trends, and seasonal ingredients.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
In-depth knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards.
Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Salary on this role is €40K.
