Fire Prevention Officer
We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Prevention Officer to join our team at the State Organisation.
About the Role
This role is responsible for providing risk management advice to protect staff, public and patients in medical-related facilities. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with legal and statutory obligations related to fire health and safety prevention.
Key Responsibilities
* Advise on equipment suitability to reduce risks within the organisation, striving for standardisation of products in consultation with the Procurement Team.
* Report to managers and relevant committees on areas of fire and infrastructural risk where action is required.
* Investigate accidents, provide accident investigation reports and be a member of the Integrated Quality and Risk committee.
* Monitor and report on the health and safety performance of external contractors engaged in Construction-related activity on the organisation's premises.
* Assist in setting up and amending Emergency Plans, inputting into planning expenditure in relation to Fire Safety and prioritising essential works.
* Regularly inspect buildings, means of escape and fire-fighting equipment, ensuring they are properly located, well-marked, in good repair and working order.
Requirements
* Hold a HETAC level 7 qualification in engineering, fire engineering, architecture, Health and Safety or Building Services/Building Surveying or similar level 7.
* Have at least two years' experience in a comparable Fire and Safety role, demonstrating similar duties/responsibilities.
* Demonstrate pro-active commitment to communications with internal and external stakeholders.
* Develop good working relationships with team members and administrators.
Working Conditions
Standard Working hours are 35 weekly, Monday to Friday (business hours). Salary is €52,000 - €58,000 with annual increments thereafter.
