Are you an experienced application architect passionate about cybersecurity and innovation in cloud and hybrid environments? We are seeking aDirector of Architectureto join a leading financial services organization’s Enterprise Cybersecurity (ECS) team.
About the Role
As Director of Architecture, you will lead the design and implementation of enterprise-grade cybersecurity solutions, leveraging your expertise in application security for cloud and hybrid deployments. You will work closely with engineering and product teams, guiding them in adopting secure design principles, mitigating threats, and embedding robust security practices across the development lifecycle.
What You’ll Do:
* Architect and implement secure, scalable application solutions for cloud and hybrid platforms.
* Drive threat modeling, risk assessment, and mitigation strategies to protect customer data and applications from evolving threats.
* Lead initiatives in applicationsecurity testing, including secure code review(SAST/DAST/SCA/IAST) and red team assessments.
* Champion DevSecOps practices by integrating security seamlessly into CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks.
* Collaborate across teams to promote a Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC) and ensure compliance with standards likeOWASP top-10.
* Mentor architects and engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
* Translate complex cybersecurity challenges into actionable solutions and communicate their business value to leadership.
What You Bring to the Role:
* A minimum of 7 years of hands-on technical leadership and architecture experience in building and securing enterprise web applications.
* Deep technical expertise in application security,cloud architectures(SaaS, PaaS, IaaS), and secureDevSecOpspipelines.
* Proficiency in identifying and mitigating web, API, and enterprise application threats, with expertise in common vulnerabilities like XSS and SQL injection.
* Strong knowledge of application security tools and techniques, such as secure code review, software composition analysis, penetration testing, and red team assessments.
* Proven ability to mentor and influence engineering teams to deliver secure, high-quality application solutions.
For this position, you must be based in the Galway area and be flexible with a hybrid working model.
