Our client, an established engineering consultancy company based in Ireland with a reputation for excellence, has a new opening for an Environmental Director. This position can be a hybrid working option (some days in office and off-site/remote working). In this position, you will provide strategic guidance and management to ensure successful growth of an existing enthusiastic environmental team with the following departments:
* Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) & Environmental Planning
* Environmental Due Diligence & Land Contamination
* EPA Licensing
* ESG & Sustainability
* Drone Surveying
The ideal candidate will have excellent commercial awareness with a proven track record of developing and upskilling internal teams to achieve high performance. You will be part of the leadership team that reports to and is supported by the Managing Director in a role that includes:
* Developing the growth strategy for the environmental team.
* Managing, guiding, and mentoring an enthusiastic team.
* Improving the environmental performance for a diverse range of projects across multiple sectors.
* Agreeing and managing monthly team budget, targets & performance.
* Recruitment and retention of the environmental team.
* Business development & bidding.
* Managing team schedules, project delivery, and exceeding client expectations.
* Directing, leading, and delivering designated environmental projects.
Experience Required:
* A third-level qualification (Degree/Masters) in Environmental Science or related discipline.
* Experience working in the Irish environmental consultancy sector.
* 10+ years’ relevant experience preferred.
* Ability to project manage multi-disciplinary teams and multiple projects simultaneously.
* Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
* Highly motivated individual with strong attention to detail.
* Self-motivated and solution-driven.
* A good understanding of the Renewable Energy and/or Food & Drink industries would be an advantage.
* A full clean driving licence.
