Description
Your duty and responsibility as a Staff Accountant will be to provide clients with the services they desire to maximize their long-term personal, professional and financial performance. You will function as a valuable team member on audit, tax and consulting engagements. Our firm will provide an experienced accountant/auditor as a mentor for your professional development. In addition, we will provide both formal orientation and continuous training to enhance your continued growth as a professional. Your responsibility is to utilize the freedom, training and resources provided to create your own success.
MAcc or senior accounting students who will meet the 150 hour requirement to be eligible to sit for the CPA exam preferred.
Job Functions
Job functions will include assisting accountants in the firm with preparation of:
1. Monthly/quarterly/annual accounting services for clients
2. Financial, audit and tax work papers to assist tax preparers and auditors
3. Various monthly, quarterly and annual business tax filings for clients
4. Income tax returns
5. Assisting with administrative functions of the firm
Ideal Candidate
Our ideal candidate is/has:
1. An accounting student who has made substantial progress toward obtaining an accounting degree
2. Above average competency in accounting as demonstrated by their grade point average
3. A self-starter and can work effectively even when given minimal direction or formal training
4. Able to demonstrate the ability to learn new processes and software and a willingness to learn advanced computer skills in all Microsoft software programs and QuickBooks accounting software
5. Great interpersonal and communication skills
