Summary
Jennings O’Donovan & Partners are currently recruiting Design Engineers to work as key members of our Water Services team, in our Sligo office, primarily focusing on water treatment and water network projects. The ideal candidates will be degree qualified in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental or Process engineering and have a minimum of three years’ experience in the design, procurement or contract administration of water and wastewater projects. Reporting to a Senior Associate team lead, candidates should have good knowledge of water/wastewater treatment processes along with a good understanding of quality, safety and commercial drivers associated with the delivery of projects to clients.
You will work alongside our project managers and design engineers throughout the project design and delivery cycle, supporting various design stages of water and wastewater utility projects to include carrying out feasibility studies, reference designs, detailed designs and preparation of reports and technical specifications.

Qualifications/Requirements:
* Level 8 Degree qualified in civil, environmental, mechanical, process engineering or related discipline; relevant MSc would be viewed favourably.
* Chartered Engineer status or working towards status.
* Minimum of 3 years’ experience ideally in water / wastewater process design.
* Experience working on Irish Water/Uisce Éireann projects and/or knowledge of UE standards.
* Proven track record in delivering technical designs.
* Working knowledge of BIM will be an advantage.
Job Responsibilities:
* Technical and feasibility studies to appraise the practicability of alternative solutions in aspects such as potable water, foul water, surface water and attenuation requirements, including appropriate calculations.
* Perform preliminary and detailed process design of water/wastewater treatment plants based on data provided; achieving contract specified goals.
* Research and development of new process design solutions.
* Keep up to date with developments in regulatory legislation and Uisce Éireann specifications that may affect design work.
* Working with other team members to undertake technical work, site work, and project management.
* Management of client relationships on allocated projects both internal and external.
* Conducting site inspections and works supervision.

* Capability to satisfy client and business expectations and be able to consider the wider financial and commercial implications of their actions.
* Communicate effectively to internal and external clients, both verbally & in writing.
* Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and 2D/3D CAD software.
* Full clean Irish/EU driving licence.
