Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Manager to join our progressive food production company in Co. Meath.
The Role:
* Ensure the implementation and maintenance of the Food Safety and Quality Management System across the site.
* Liaise with key stakeholders and drive continuous improvement to meet legislative, customer, and certification requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Serve as the primary Technical contact for the site.
2. Collaborate with the Site Production Manager to implement the Food Safety and Quality Management System.
3. Work with production supervisors/managers to prepare management reports and conduct trend analyses.
4. E nsure compliance with DAFM, BRC, MPQAS, and Customer Requirements.
5. Review and update Food Safety and Quality Management Systems to align with legislative and customer standards.
6. Stay informed about food legislation and emerging food safety risks.
7. Communicate technical information effectively to diverse audiences.
8. Drive innovation by developing new technical approaches or technologies.
9. Manage certification and customer audits, ensuring timely completion of corrective actions.
10. Handle customer complaints, conduct root-cause investigations, and implement corrective actions.
11. Promote continuous improvement through Food Safety and Quality Objectives.
12. Foster a strong Food Safety Culture across the site.
13. Mentor and develop talent within the technical team.
14. Work closely with the HR Manager on HR/IR issues.
Key Requirements:
* 3-5 years quality/technical management experience in the food industry.
* A qualification in Food Science, preferably a degree, or equivalent experience.
* Comprehensive knowledge of HACCP and Good Manufacturing Procedures.
* Demonstrated expertise in food safety and quality.
