Malone O’Regan Environmental Services (MOR Environmental), one of Ireland’s leading multidisciplinary environmental consultancy firms, is seeking an ambitious environmental consultant to join our renewables team. If you have a passion for environmental sciences and renewable energy and are ambitious to develop your career in a consultancy environment, this role might be ideal for you. You will have the opportunity to work on multiple renewable energy projects for our clients, who are developing solar farms, battery storage, and onshore wind farms.
The purpose of the role is to support project managers and ensure that projects are delivered to our clients at a high quality, on time, and within budget. The role involves conducting site and survey work, analysing data and drafting technical reports such as Environmental Impact Assessment reports. We provide various services, including Environmental Impact Assessments, Environmental Monitoring, Acoustics, Air and Odour, Environmental Management Systems, Sustainability, Biodiversity, Hydrogeology, Contaminated Land and Waste Management. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to learn from experts and broaden their skills in the environmental services field.
This is a hybrid role based in our Dublin office in Sandyford. Some travel around the country to conduct surveys or site visits may also be involved.
Role Responsibilities
* Draft, review, and coordinate Environmental Impact Assessment chapters under the direction of experienced colleagues for a wide range of renewable sector clients;
* Assist project managers on projects, carrying out activities such as data review, research, and coordinating reports;
* Data analysis, interpretation, and presentation;
* Environmental surveying;
* Keeping up to date with relevant statutory guidelines and legislation;
* Technical report writing;
* Engaging with external stakeholders such as regulatory bodies and subcontractors;
* Communication with clients and attending project meetings if required;
About you
Passionate about environmental consultancy, with an excellent understanding of environmental science principles and the ability to understand and analyse client requirements. Ambitious, keen to learn new skills and progress in your career.
Flexible to work on several varied projects with diverse challenges. Good at managing workload while keeping high attention to detail and quality of deliverables. Effective communicator, both verbally and in writing, with strong teamwork skills. Ability to work under pressure as part of a team and on your own to meet project deadlines and budgets.
Equally comfortable with desk-based work, such as analysis, research, and report writing, as with fieldwork and surveying.
Required experience and qualifications:
* Degree qualified (or higher) in environmental science or a related field;
* Minimum of two years of relevant work experience;
* Qualifications in planning, where candidates have a key interest and understanding of environmental issues, will be considered;
* Familiarity with relevant legislation;
* Familiarity with the planning application process;
* Competent in technical report writing;
* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, etc.);
* Full clean driving licence;
* Eligible to work in Ireland.
Desirable but not essential:
* Experience working in an environmental consultancy firm;
* A master’s degree in a relevant field;
* Member of a relevant professional body;
* Access to own vehicle.
