YOUR FUTURE RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Providing key support and advice to senior management and business lines in Ireland and Common Law countries in EMEA and APAC. The selected candidate would be working with the in-house Legal department and directly reporting to the Head of Legal Europe & APAC.
* Operate as primary point of contact for the business to assist with advisory and commercial matters, and strategic or mitigation risk strategies.
* Drafting, reviewing and assisting with negotiation of a broad range of specialised services agreements with clients, and commercial contracts with suppliers.
* Working closely with the Legal team and the Head of Legal on:
o drafting and updating legal documentation, including template service agreements, intra-group agreements and outsourcing agreements and other types of commercial contracts;
o negotiation of a broad range of specialised commercial and technology contracts with suppliers;
o advising on substantial cross-border client transactions and managing external counsel;
o management of legal risk and monitoring or advising on legislative and regulatory changes affecting the business’ service offering;
o ensuring compliance with internal policies, procedures and standards as well as Alter Domus’ standard contracting process;
o assist with delivery of in-person training to upskill senior management and raise awareness or flag risks on liability, regulatory and governance topics.
* Providing business support to:
o assist with formal responses to client queries in support of operational teams;
o advise operational teams on the legal consequences of corporate and commercial documents;
o acting as trusted advisor to the Group’s senior management and internal support functions.
YOUR PROFILE
* University degree in law, completed by postgraduate studies in corporate or commercial law;
* Three to five years relevant post-qualification experience in a leading law firm or in-house in a financial services provider;
* Strong background in corporate and commercial law, and experience within the Financial Services sector;
* Proven track-record in commercial contract negotiations within the Financial Services sector;
* Fluency in spoken and written English is essential; other language skills would be an asset;
* Experience in any of the following areas would be beneficial, but is not essential: IP/IT (i.e. data protection, trademark and brand management), negotiation of bespoke commercial and outsourcing agreements;
* Experience in using legal technology platforms would be a distinct advantage;
* Excellent verbal communication and drafting skills;
* Excellent legal risk awareness and ability to work collaboratively with the business to deliver pragmatic outcome-focused solutions to legal issues, without compromising on Alter Domus’ policies, protection and values;
* Ability to represent views clearly and succinctly, and to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation;
* Willingness and ability to develop expertise in new technical areas to consistently high standards.
