Manufacturing Engineer II - Galway - Contract
Our client, a Medical Device company, is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join their team in central Galway.
The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for providing engineering support to Manufacturing and the development of existing and new process technologies within the business unit.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide Manufacturing line support to production.
* Lead Improvement Projects addressing yield, efficiency, and capacity.
* Lead projects for new equipment and process introduction and qualification.
* Identify and implement solutions to quality and technical issues.
* Improve manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors.
* Manage the overall equipment performance (OEE) through the appropriate use of Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques.
* Investigate new process technologies and evaluate potential competitive advantages and the cost benefits of introduction.
* Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Qualifications:
* Must have L8 Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, or a related discipline.
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role or more in a Technician Level role.
* Previous experience working within the Medical Devices industry; Lasers would be an advantage.
* Practical understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.
