DescriptionThe post of CNM 2 ED (Admitted Patients) has a pivotal role in service planning, coordinating, and managing activity and resources within the clinical area.
The main responsibilities are:
Quality assuranceResource managementFacilitating communication and professional/clinical leadershipSupporting patient flow within the Emergency departmentCommunicating and acting as a vital link between the ED, General Practitioners (GPs), and Community Care ServicesLiaising with Bed Management, Wards, Departments, and other Paramedical Services where necessaryExchanging information on patients with GP Liaison Nurse, Clinical Nurse Manager III / Assistant Director of Nursing of the ED, and other Nursing & Medical staffUnderstanding the workings of GP practices, community hospitals, nursing homes, and Public Health, acting as a source of expertise in admission avoidance and expediting dischargesFor enquiries, please contact Sorcha Burns - DNM ED/ Specialty Medicine Directorate (EASM) - Email:
