Description
The post of CNM 2 ED (Admitted Patients) has a pivotal role in service planning, coordinating, and managing activity and resources within the clinical area.
The main responsibilities are:
1. Quality assurance
2. Resource management
3. Facilitating communication and professional/clinical leadership
4. Supporting patient flow within the Emergency department
5. Communicating and acting as a vital link between the ED, General Practitioners (GPs), and Community Care Services
6. Liaising with Bed Management, Wards, Departments, and other Paramedical Services where necessary
7. Exchanging information on patients with GP Liaison Nurse, Clinical Nurse Manager III / Assistant Director of Nursing of the ED, and other Nursing & Medical staff
8. Understanding the workings of GP practices, community hospitals, nursing homes, and Public Health, acting as a source of expertise in admission avoidance and expediting discharges
