We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Accounts Technician to join our finance team. This is a 6-month fixed-term contract, with the high possibility of extension based on business needs. This role will be instrumental in supporting our accounting functions, providing accurate and timely financial information to help drive decision-making across the business.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management accounts.
Maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy in data entry and account reconciliations.
Process and verify accounts payable and receivable transactions.
Support month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.
Prepare VAT returns and assist with other tax compliance activities.
Conduct regular bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
Support with budget preparation and analysis as needed.
Collaborate with auditors during internal and external audit processes.
Provide administrative support to the finance team, ensuring records are up-to-date and compliant.
Skills Required:
A diploma or qualification in accounting, finance, or a related field.
Proven experience in a similar accounting or finance support role.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software.
Strong numerical and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and prioritize workload.
