Job Description:
Cpl Healthcare, in partnership with the Irish Prison Service, is currently recruiting an experienced Prison Pharmacist to contribute to the provision of prison pharmacy services.
Key Responsibilities:
* To undertake regular audits of prescribing practice within IPS to ensure compliance with all relevant policy and guidance.
* To participate in the development, implementation, and audit of guidelines regarding the use of medicines.
* To provide expert advice on the use of specialist medicines, including those used to treat Hepatitis C and ARVs.
* To support the IPS Covid vaccination programme with respect to logistics, medication management, and safety, as well as pharmacovigilance.
About You:
* You must be registered as a Pharmacist with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI) or be entitled to be so registered.
* You should have at least two years of satisfactory post-registration experience.
* You must possess the requisite knowledge and ability, including a high standard of suitability and management ability, for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
We are looking for a candidate who demonstrates evidence of up-to-date pharmaceutical knowledge and skills, a patient-centred focus, experience of medication and prescribing audit, good interpersonal skills, and proven written and verbal communication abilities. Additionally, you should be able to work independently, prioritise tasks, and demonstrate attention to detail, leadership, and decision-making ability.
The successful candidate will have a flexible location preference between Longford and Dublin. They will be required to attend IPS HQ in Longford at least one day per week if their preferred location is not Longford.
