Job Description:
EZ Living Furniture was founded in Galway in 1998. We are a family-run Irish retailer operating nationwide, as well as a full online shopping experience offering delivery throughout Ireland. We are the largest independent Furniture Retailer in Ireland employing almost 400 people.
We are looking for a part-time Health and Safety Officer to coordinate and manage Health and Safety initiatives in all sites. This contract will be for one day per week fixed term for a year.
Key Responsibilities:
* Coordinate and support safety initiatives, accident investigations, site walks, audits, and training needs.
* Conduct risk assessments and safety audits across all collection and site-based activities, implementing corrective measures.
* Ensure robust safe systems of work for employees, including manual handling, vehicle safety, and PPE requirements.
* Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines for all collection activities and maintenance operations.
* Conduct regular H&S checks and audits, assisting with accident/incident investigations, and organizing safety training sessions.
* Maintain safety and training records, ensuring compliance and scheduling refresher training as required.
* Report on KPI metrics and implement actions to improve safety performance.
* Interpret and advise on the implementation of H&S legislation, staying abreast of relevant legislative changes.
* Keep all H&S processes up to date.
* Train and educate all staff in Health and Safety.
Experience, Skills & Education:
* Professional qualification in Health and Safety (IOSH, NEBOSH).
* Expert knowledge of Health and Safety regulations.
* Strong commitment to safety culture and process improvement.
* Experience in auditing, inspecting, and managing health and safety in a multi-site environment.
* Knowledge of fire safety and risk assessments.
