We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Investment Analyst to join our Manager Research and Selection team at Mediolanum.
As a Senior Analyst, the successful candidate will assist the team in developing and maintaining a buy list of funds used to support the creation of a broad range of fund of fund portfolios. You will be working closely with portfolio managers to identify the best fund ideas according to our Fund Selection process.

Principal Duties of the position, including but not limited to:
1. Responsible for the identification and selection of equity managers for addition to the buy list.
2. Supervise selected equity strategies on the buy list and recommending removal according to our monitoring process.
3. Engage and work alongside portfolio managers in the ongoing monitoring of existing and prospective fund investments.
4. Contribute to the ongoing improvement of the fund selection and monitoring process, particularly with a view to adding sound quantitative techniques which can build good efficiencies and deliver a more focused approach.
5. Maintain and develop our manager research database and records.
6. Work collegiately with the team across other asset classes as required.
7. Support compliance, regulatory, product specialist and legal functions as the need arises.
8. Ad hoc projects as required.
Skills and Competencies:
1. Numeracy and accuracy as a pre-requisite as is the ability to work to deadlines in a team based environment.
2. Strong attention to detail.
3. Strong analytical and communication skills (both oral and written).
4. Sophisticated knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
5. Knowledge of Bloomberg, Morningstar Direct and Style Analytics is an advantage.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. At least 6 years relevant work experience within fund manager research or direct equity investing.
2. A strong interest in investment markets and a high degree of proactivity.
3. Familiarity of the main asset classes with a strong knowledge of Equities including associated styles / approaches.
4. Ability to understand and communicate the key risks stemming from investment strategies.
5. Candidate should have obtained or be in the process of obtaining the CFA qualification.
