Key Responsibilities:
* Assist with the initial survey from an electrical technical perspective.
* Provide all the relevant electrical information for the design of the solar project.
* Support on electrical schematics and SLD for the project.
* Provide Cable layouts (DC & AC) and planned routes.
* Produce accurately designed systems and costing estimates as well as a bill of materials for a wide range of solar ground mount and rooftop projects.
* Oversee and manage the full electrical installation of data cable, smart logger, and monitoring devices.
* Analyse the systems data and PV generation.
* Oversee and manage the installation of G10 and G99, CT Clamp, breaker, and LV/MV site connection information.
* Assist with HV/MV Transformer and Switchgear intervention if required.
* Provide Battery storage solutions when required.
* Collaborate with the solar team to provide labour cost insights, project planning, electrical installation and project delivery.
* Support Project Managers and clients with technical solutions as well as co-ordination of daily on-site activities.
* Track and manage industrial scale solar projects in a manner that exceeds our customers’ expectations and deliver every project on time and within budget.
* Set and drive departmental KPI’s and challenge improvement.
* System testing and commissioning - Witness testing.
* SEAI, Grant and DNO Grid connection information if required for completion of documentation.
* Continuously drive safety, quality, and efficiency measures across all projects.
* Provide handover information such as pictures and as built information.
* Oversee the operation and maintenance of solar systems to ensure optimal performance.
Key Requirements:
* Previous Industrial electrical experience and knowledge of LV/MV and strong knowledge of electrical systems, including AC and DC circuits.
* Previous Electrical experience and knowledge specific to solar and renewables.
* Understanding of G10 (ROI) and G99 (NI) spec requirement.
* Previous experience in electrical estimating, preferably within the solar or renewable energy industry.
* Knowledge of Solar PV industry software, UK & Ire regulations, and Industry standards.
* Understanding of applications, Grid connections, Grant and SEAI requirements.
* Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and electrical diagrams.
* Have all knowledge and understanding of the electrical rules and regulations for solar projects.
* Proven ability to adapt and thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
* Self-motivated with an ability to manage multiple objectives.
* Skilled in adapting to requirements of numerous, constantly changing design demands.
* Proficient in all aspects of health and safety of the build, with IOSH Safety certification being desirable.
* Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, Project, SharePoint, and Adobe Pro with experience presenting to Senior Leadership.
* Excellent teamwork, communication, and people skills a must.
* Experience in Renewable Energy project delivery in an Irish context is desirable.
Certifications/Qualifications Required:
* Qualifications of Micro Solar Photovoltaic Systems Implementation QQI / FETAC and Micro-Generator Electrical Installation QQI / FETAC or equivalent SEAI recognised course would be an advantage.
* MEng/MSc or BEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
