RPS, a Tetra Tech company is looking for a site-based Resident Engineer – Electrical to work as a key member of our Public Lighting (PL) Project in Kilkenny and throughout several counties in Leinster.

What You Will Be Doing
The key duties and responsibilities of the Resident Engineer - Electrical include:
* The Resident Engineer shall be responsible for monitoring, witness testing, checking compliance with the scope and that all works are carried out in accordance with the works contract.
* The Resident Engineer shall be working predominantly on site.
* Manage the H&S system relevant to their work area.
* Participate in work activities which support the Quality Management system.
* Ensure 90% achievement in due date delivery of service.
* Check project documentation, drawings and calculations, as required.
* Check design calculations are in accordance with the requirements of the RPS QA system if needed.
* Carry out site surveys and attend site meetings.
* Review Claim / Variation submissions.
* Participate fully within the project team.
* Ensure thorough understanding of project management objectives.
* Follow defined goals.
* Follow training plans.
* Maintain CPD.
* Comply with RPS systems.
Who We Are Looking For
* Experience in either Public Realm, Building Services, including Commercial, Industrial or Healthcare projects.
* Significant experience in client interfaces and contract administration on medium to large projects.
* Highly motivated and capable of directing the work of junior staff.
* Good site experience including construction support, surveys, meetings and generating snag lists.
* IT Proficiency using standard office software, such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
* Basic understanding of specific building services design tools, such as AutoCAD, Revit, HEVACOMP and similar.
* Have a good working knowledge & experience of Health & Safety legislation and regulations.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a diverse multi-disciplinary team with strong people management skills.
* Adherence to engineering quality systems.
* Self-disciplined and capacity to self-motivate.
* Delivery focussed with attention to detail.
Qualifications And Experience
* Relevant Degree qualified (Level 8) in Engineering or a related discipline.
* Minimum of 10+ years’ post graduate experience.
* Satisfactory experience monitoring, testing and defects, and checking compliance of an electrical engineering construction project with a capital value of at least €5m (ex VAT).
