GeoDirectory are hiring an IT manager to add to its highly skilled and motivated staff. We provide a geocoded postal building database which has become the standard for addressing in Ireland. We have been expanding in recent years both in terms of products and services, and hiring an IT manager is the next step on this journey. The team in GeoDirectory is relatively young, highly skilled and the culture is focused on growth both for the person and the company.
The successful candidate will hold a leadership role and work in a multi-disciplined environment including IT, Sales, Marketing and Operations. You will be responsible for overseeing and managing the organisation's IT operations, systems, and infrastructure. You will play a crucial role in aligning technology strategies with the organisation's goals, ensuring the efficient and secure operation of IT resources, and supporting the overall objectives of the business.
It is expected that a 40/60 split between the management role and research/delivery of day-to-day tasks.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage a team to ensure high quality deliverables in a timely manner.
2. Maintain Azure Cloud Environment.
3. You will be the main POC for all the data assets within the data warehouse.
4. Ensure the data warehouse architecture is aligned with business requirements.
5. Manage the data workflows, pipelines, and ETL processes with best practice quality controls.
6. Strong proficiency in at least one major language such as Python, Scala, or Java.
7. Work closely with business stakeholders in Sales, Marketing, Finance & Operations to design and deliver valuable data and data projects to drive business results.
8. Day to day operational support of data infrastructure and services.
9. Enforce data governance policies, set guidelines for data sharing, and assist organizations with data-related problems.
10. Manage projects with third-party companies.
11. Contribute to the ongoing development of the team through mentoring, development, and training of junior staff.
12. Understand and communicate the teams' capacity and skills and align them to the business roadmap.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or relevant field.
2. Verified experience as a data manager or data analyst for 5+ years.
3. Possess a good understanding of business strategy and metrics.
4. Analytical mind-set with strong critical thinking abilities.
5. Possess strong communication skills, and can effectively partner with analysts, product managers, engineers from across the business (IT, Finance, Sales, Marketing, etc.).
