Ashdown Park Hotel is currently recruiting for a dedicated, full time, Reservations Manager.
The Reservations Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of individual and group room reservations. They will be responsible for leading and training the Reservations Agents.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the running of reservations & concierge office ensuring that it is run smoothly and efficiently.
* Ensure that the hotel's Revenue Strategies are implemented in the reservations department.
* Work closely with the sales team and assist in negotiating rates and organising special promotions.
* Have full knowledge of all the hotels rates and packages and contribute to package strategies.
* Quote for group enquiries and follow up appropriately to ensure that they are handled to the required standard.
* Have full responsibility for the status of groups and ensure deposits and prepayments are received on time and that all elements of their stay are pre-reserved.
* Ensure co-ordination with reception regarding payment details, arrival times and any unusual requests.
* Co-ordinate in advance with the restaurant, concierge and any other departments any information which concerns them.
* Check email and all other websites on a daily basis and update the websites regularly with rates and allocations.
* Check and confirm all commission claims for the accounts office.
* Recognise regular and repeat business and ensure special requests are clearly noted for reception.
* Assist with the accommodation budget and developing Yield Strategies.
* Be a salesperson for the hotel by upselling and recommending the hotel facilities.
The Ideal Candidate
At least two years experience as a Reservations Manager or Reservations Supervisor in a 4-5 star hotel property with a solid mix of business including corporate, leisure, events, wedding, and banqueting.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* A proven track record in a leadership role.
* Strong knowledge of Hostosft or a similar PMS.
* Strong knowledge of Siteminder or a similar Channel Manager.
* Proactively develop the skillset of the Reservations Agents.
* Strong customer service ethos and background.
* A can-do attitude and the ability to work well in a team.
* Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel and other computer software.
* Excellent organisational skills and the ability to multi-task.
