About the role:
The Meeting & Events Executive for Powerscourt Hotel coordinates events from proposal through to event fulfilment. This role communicates with the hotel departments and customers to ensure consistent high-level service throughout the pre-event, event, and post-event phases. Responsibilities include managing function space and room block inventory to maximize hotel profit and ensuring the hotel and client fulfill group contractual commitments. The role also recognizes opportunities to maximize revenue through upselling and offering enhancements to create outstanding events.
This position will suit an outgoing personality with a proactive and detailed approach to hotel sales, who enjoys working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
The Ideal candidate will possess:
* Strong command of the English language
* Previous experience in events at a 5-star hotel or equivalent relevant experience, preferably at least 2 years
* Excellent customer service skills
* Welcoming, friendly personality and manner
* Polished and professional demeanor at all times
* Ability to prioritize and organize work
* Effective sales skills to upsell products and services
* Knowledge of menu planning, food presentation, and banquet and event service operations
* Ability to manage guest room and meeting space inventories
* Strong customer development and relationship management skills
* Knowledge of event technology products and services
* Strong attention to detail
* Knowledge of contract management
* Strong communication skills (verbal, listening, writing)
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Opera Sales & Catering
