Duties & Responsibilities:
* Ensure correct buying strategy, thereby ensuring management of product categories.
* Ensuring continuous supply and optimum levels of inventory.
* Working closely with operations to develop production plans to meet budget and forecast timelines.
* Reviewing minimum stock holdings against average sales analysis.
* Managing and reducing excess inventory levels; management of obsolete stock items.
* Management of re-order values (Lead Time, Reorder Point & Quantities) to work with business requirements.
* Attendance at daily production meetings to receive feedback on production requirements.
* Manage any inventory discrepancies in terms of Purchase Orders, Delivery dockets, and Invoices.
* Support departments in closing out Purchase Orders.
* Manage & improve warehouse space utilization.
* Working to agreed time scales and deadlines.
* Management of Vendors including vetting and approval of new vendors.
* Developing and maintaining relationships with vendors, ensuring competitive pricing for the business.
* Actively managing lead time deliveries with particular attention to deliveries that may affect production flow.
* Participation in cost reduction activities.
* Delivering both high quality and cost-effective solutions.
* Managing vendor performance and ensuring alignment with in-house quality systems.
* Analyze and resolve purchasing issues and discrepancies.
* Engagement with Corporate Supply Chain Function: Attending Meetings and leveraging Corporate Negotiations and Knowledge.
* Reporting on weekly material usage.
Person Specification:
* 3rd level qualification in Supply Chain or Finance is preferable or equivalent work experience.
* Strong organizational and administration skills.
* Proficient in MS Office.
* Flexible and pro-active attitude with a desire for excellence.
* Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced distribution environment.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Can-do attitude who takes ownership for role and development of same.
* Strong relationship building skills.
* Ability to coach employees in the Supply Chain processes.
