Job Description
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a strong Part or Qualified Accountant to join our team based in Dublin 12.
Key Responsibilities
* Month-End Closing: Coordinate month-end closing activities as needed. Provide all required reporting and analysis to support the month-end close. Assist in the preparation of accruals and provisions.
* Balance Sheet Reconciliation: Reconcile key balance sheet accounts such as stock, intercompany balances, grants, payroll, VAT, and others to ensure their accuracy and integrity.
* Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile various group bank accounts and finance provider accounts throughout the month and at month-end, adhering to established timelines.
* Reporting and Support: Prepare weekly and monthly financial reports and offer general support to the finance team. Assist with ad hoc financial tasks and projects as required.
* Audit Preparation: Prepare documentation for auditors, including schedules, evidence, and supporting materials for external audits or reviews by other external bodies.
* Process Improvement: Identify and implement enhancements to financial processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Challenge existing practices to drive cost savings and operational improvements. Support the implementation of broader finance and business initiatives.
* Pension Administration: Serve as a point of contact with the pension administrator to ensure accurate and timely payment of employee pensions. Oversee monthly pension postings to accounts and prepare ad hoc pension analyses as needed.
* Expense Management: Oversee monthly expense postings to accounts and provide ad hoc expense analyses as required.
Requirements
* Motor industry experience is a distinct advantage
* Minimum of 3 - 4 years' experience of working in an accounting role.
* IATI or part qualified accountant ACCA, ACA, CIMA or Fully Qualified Accountant
* Experience of completing bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations and payroll processing are a must.
* Strong knowledge of debits and credits and general accounting principles.
* Inquisitive nature with great attention to detail.
* Strong analytical and numerical skills.
* Excellent communication skills, with ability to build rapport with various colleagues and stakeholders.
* Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage several priorities simultaneously, whilst still meeting deadlines.
* Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and a proactive approach to individual tasks.
* Team player who can show flexibility and is prepared to assist others within Finance team where necessary.
* A flexible and adaptable approach to work and change.
