RTR Senior Accountant Job Description
Our client, a biopharmaceutical company located in East Cork, is seeking an RTR Senior Accountant to join the team.
Responsibilities:
* Contribute to the definition of service standards and continuous management of service partnership agreements.
* Contribute to the definition and maintenance of key performance indicators (KPIs) and the establishment of a continuous improvement culture.
* Maintain ledger integrity and ensure financial compliance with the worldwide Controller's manual and all applicable laws and regulations.
* Responsible for the timely and accurate review and posting of month-end close and accounting transactions; P&L and balance sheet account analysis, review, reconciliation, and resolution.
* Ensure financial records are in compliance with GAAP. Consistently maintain appropriate internal controls and uphold company policies and procedures including the Worldwide Controller's manual.
* Interact successfully with internal and external auditors and support quarter-end, interim and year-end audits by providing timely and accurate data and communication.
* Evaluate processes and recommend and implement process improvements.
* Help develop, maintain, and assess internal controls related to our client's accounting and financial reporting systems.
* Interact successfully with non-financial personnel as well as with internal and external auditors.
* Responsible for the accounting and reporting requirements under U.S. and local GAAP.
* Champion the Global Financial Services philosophy and architecture for Finance.
* Support the Statutory Accounting and VAT programs within the International GFS.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Professional accounting qualification from a recognized body (ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA), with a preference for a practice training environment.
* BA or BS degree in accounting or equivalent.
* 2 to 3 years of relevant business experience, ideally in an RTR role within a similar multinational organization operating in several major European countries.
* Exposure to US GAAP and local European country statutory and tax reporting requirements.
* Strong understanding of general accounting policies and procedures.
* Experience operating RTR processes in a Shared Services environment within a multi-country corporate setting (advantageous).
* Industry experience in biotech or pharmaceuticals (a plus).
* Strong knowledge of Oracle or equivalent ERP system.
* Proficiency in Microsoft tools (Excel, Outlook, and Word).
* Fluent English communication skills; an additional major European language (French, German, Spanish, or Italian) would be beneficial.
