CR2 is a leading provider of Internet and multichannel banking, ATM and card payment solutions to the worldwide financial services industry. We are currently looking for a highly motivated and passionate individual, with a strong interest in software testing and test automation, to join the Software Quality Assurance team as an Automation Architect. You will be responsible for the creation of an overall Automation strategy and for guiding, mentoring, and motivating a team of Software Development Engineers in Test in its adoption, ensuring the team provide the highest level of quality across multiple products. Working closely with the Head of QA this role will allow you to shape the automation strategy, make recommendations on tools, testing standards, drive increased levels of automation within the team, and work closely with DevOps and IT to develop CI/CD pipelines across a number of products. This is a hands-on role and developing Automated tests will be part of the role.
You will work closely with your colleagues in DevOps, IT, Development, and Product within an Agile environment.
What will you be doing:
Architect and oversee the development of suites of automated tests and test frameworks for front and backend development
Own the automation backlog and prioritisation of items within the backlog for consideration at sprint planning
Guide and train the team on software testing and automation best practice
Maintain and review existing manual regression and automation suites to ensure coverage and efficiencies in run times
Review pull requests across the team and ensure the team are producing high quality automated tests
Ensure test environments and test data are fit for purpose
Attend and contribute to Agile ceremonies as required
Analyse, document, and report test metrics
Identify training needs of the team
Review and assess continuously the tooling and test adjuncts the team use with a view to making improvements
What you will bring to CR2:
Computer Science Degree or equivalent with Java coding skills
A minimum of 5 years’ experience within the QA industry as an automation engineer and/or lead
Experience creating automation frameworks and review/analysis of existing frameworks
Experience automating frontend and backend end-to-end test scenarios
Experience testing Web and Mobile Applications
Experience testing APIs
Experience of Performance Testing using tools such as JMeter
Experience in CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins
Experience of version control systems such as Git
Experience using a test automation framework such as RestAssured, Selenium, TestNG & Appium
Experience working with Microservices
Experience using test case management & defect tracking tools
Familiarity with XML, SQL Scripting, Oracle and Database technology
Experience working within an Agile/Scrum environment
Experience managing test data and test environments
Good written and verbal communication skills
High level of attention to detail and strong aptitude for learning new technologies
Ability to work across multiple product areas and remain quality focused
An innovative mindset open to exploring AI technology to expedite the automation efforts
Must be able to work independently on own projects while working concurrently across departments and all levels of employees
Environment configuration – Windows and Unix experience
Experience with banking, fintech or systems in a highly regulated environment
Direct experience with Payments or Card processing
