Work within a highly automated manufacturing environment to maximize uptime, ensure the process runs consistently, and key business unit performance metrics are met.

Responsibilities include:
1. Monitoring and management of production yield performance, maximizing productivity of the equipment and minimizing yield loss from the process.
2. Liaising with Team Leaders regarding productivity and efficiency performance issues.
3. Engaging with support teams in mechanical, electrical, and electronic troubleshooting, and in resolving hardware/software interfacing problems on the production floor.
4. Diagnosing malfunctioning systems to reduce downtime or identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
5. Coordinating preventative maintenance and calibration activities on assigned lines/process.
6. Identifying and assisting the business with the implementation of technical improvements.
7. Supporting process equipment changes and continuous improvement projects.
8. Building quality into all aspects of one’s work by maintaining compliance with all site and corporate Quality Management System requirements.
9. Providing out-of-hours support to the business as required by management or as mandated by shutdowns and/or equipment failures.
10. Being a self-motivated process technician and continuously striving for self-improvement.
11. Maintaining an internal ‘Best Practice’ regime and encouraging continuous improvements.
12. Assisting subcontractors as required.
13. Maintaining appropriate records in line with requirements.
14. Willingness to take on and familiarize yourself with all relevant site systems as deemed necessary to complete the role.
15. All other duties as assigned.
16. Working week nights as part of the shift support team (39 hours).
17. Flexibility required (when critically needed) to cover production on weekend night shift or swing shift – on a business needs basis.

Qualifications and Experience
* Certificate/Diploma in Engineering/Trade qualification in electrical, mechanical, toolmaking, or related discipline is required.
* 2 years’ Technician experience in a manufacturing environment, or multiple years of experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
* Ideally, previous experience in some or all of the following:
o Low voltage controls
o PLCs
o Instrumentation
o Calibration
* Experience in the medical device industry is an advantage.
* Business understanding of operations and key business metrics.
* Good PC skills required.
* Strong communication skills with both internal and external agents.
* Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. Proven track record in a similar role.
