Our client is a top-tier Irish law firm who is growing their competition practice and are keen to recruit a Competition Associate Solicitor to join their highly regarded Competition and Regulated Markets team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated solicitor to join a top-tier firm, working with leading clients on cutting-edge matters in competition and regulatory law. As an integral part of the team, you will advise high-profile clients across a diverse range of sectors, including energy, retail, technology, insurance, and financial services. Your role will span a variety of exciting and complex competition and regulatory matters, including:
* Merger control
* Foreign investment screening
* Investigations and State aid
* Competition law aspects of agreements
* Compliance programmes
* Competition litigation
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide high-quality legal advice to clients on a wide range of competition and regulatory issues
* Assist with complex and high-stakes competition investigations, including interactions with competition authorities
* Contribute to significant cross-border merger control matters
* Draft and negotiate key competition and regulatory documents, agreements, and compliance frameworks
* Support clients in competition-related litigation and dispute resolution
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and external stakeholders
* Collaborate with a dynamic and supportive team of legal experts
The Ideal Candidate:
* 2+ years PQE, gained in a reputable law firm or relevant in-house position with a focus on competition law and regulation
* Solid understanding of Irish and EU competition law, including merger control, state aid, and cartel investigations
* Excellent research, analytical, and drafting skills
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a client-focused approach
* A proactive and team-oriented attitude, with a keen interest in developing your expertise
