C&D Foods have an exciting opportunity for a Production Manager to join our team. This role will be based in Edgeworthstown, Co. Longford.
Key Responsibilities:
Production:
Process Control:
* Ensure that stretching process targets are met through KPI's
* Maximise factory throughput and yield.
* Ensure process parameter targets and specifications are met.
* Ensure proper manufacturing SOPs are developed and adhered to.
* Ensure optimum and cost-effective usage of fuel, raw and process materials.
Plant and Equipment:
* Ensure Shift Supervisors identify process difficulties and opportunities for capital improvements, and work with them to identify and implement solutions.
* Ensure ongoing Operator Asset Care OAC programmes are deployed
* Ensure alignment with best practice in terms of maintenance /production cross functional teams
* Work with the Site Engineering Manager to ensure equipment performance is delivered
Budgets:
* Assist in preparation and monitoring of budgets.
* Evaluate budget variances and actions to rectify.
* Ensure production budgets are met annually
Capital/Maintenance Projects:
* Lead production integration of capital projects
* Liaise with suppliers / engineering staff to procure high performance equipment by presenting production perspective in discussions on design, layout and integration of the installations into the existing plant.
* Ensure operator training and assessment is integral to project delivery from an early stage.
EHS:
Environmental:
* Ensure compliance with environmental standards and regulations.
* Seek opportunities to further reduce level of emissions and resource consumption.
Safety:
* Ensure that all new plant and equipment is designed and installed to ensure safe operation and maintenance.
* Ensure compliance with all safety standards and regulations.
* Ensure that appropriate PPE is controlled, available and worn.
* Ensure that safety procedures are fully understood by employees and contractors and that all personnel operate and act in a safe manner.
* Ensure that housekeeping standards contribute to a safe, clean working environment.
* Participate in accident and incident investigations. Ensure agreed remedial actions are identified and implemented.
* Liaise with Shift Supervisor and Safety Officer in relation to safety on shift and projects.
* Ensure that Safety training and reporting is carried out across all production shifts
Health:
* Liaise with Shift Supervisor, HR Manager and Company doctor in relation to health issues with employees on the shift.
Quality/Hygiene:
* Through Shift Supervisor, ensure compliance to all BRC and customer requirements.
* Manage all contract cleaners activities.
* Carry out internal quality system audits as instructed by the Site Quality Mgr.
* Ensure the Customer Awareness Programme (CAP) process is delivered through all production shifts
* Ensure corrective actions are completed to close off and follow up on customer complaints
* Participate in periodic reviews and modification to the H.A.C.C.P. system.
* Ensure that the Process flows are detailed for all production areas and that all operators are trained in the correct processes
* Ensure that Shift Supervisors deals with IR issues and grievances at local level.
* Provide advice and support to Shift Supervisors in resolution of issues.
* Where issues cannot be solved by the Shift Supervisor locally, take ownership for resolving them at the next stage of the procedure.
* Liaise with the HR/Process/Site Operations Mgmt. Team in relation to highlighting current and possible future IR issues and develop strategies to deal with these.
* Ensure that Company/Union agreements are monitored and implemented.
* Ensure that skills profile of a shift team meets the skills mix required to operate effectively and efficiently.
* Develop structured training programmes in conjunction with Shift Supervisors.
* Evaluate effectiveness of training and where necessary initiate remedial action.
* Provide coaching and on-going support to help people perform.
* Work with the Site General Manager and the Engineering Mgr. to deliver the site approach to manufacturing excellence in Production
* Where issues cannot be solved by the Shift Supervisor locally, take ownership for resolving them at the next stage of the procedure.

* 5 + years' experience in the management of large numbers of personnel in a FMCG environment.
* Disciplined focus on day-to-day delivery of KPI site metrics.
* Manage and lead a team culture to drive performance improvements.
* Champion Continuous Improvement across the site whilst implement best practice processes and procedures.
* Fast response to issues and unblocking barriers to performance.
* Readily accepts ownership, accountability and responsibility in delivering effective solutions.
* Proficient in Office Tools
