Purpose of the Post The role of the Clerical Officer (Ward Clerk) is to provide secretarial and clerical support to the multidisciplinary team (MDT) at unit level.
The Clerical Officer (Ward Clerk) performs a variety of duties.
These include the provision of clerical/secretarial and receptionist duties, communication between units/departments and outside agencies, healthcare records (HCR) maintenance and data entry.
A panel may be formed as a result of this campaign.
Essential criteria: A minimum of two years experience in a clerical/secretarial role.
Minimum level of education: Leaving certificate or equivalent or satisfactory relevant experience which encompasses demonstrable equivalent skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills with proven written and verbal communication abilities.
Excellent secretarial and organisational skills.
Excellent computer skills with experience of Microsoft Office/Outlook.
Desirable Experience in a similar role within a healthcare setting would be an advantage.
Medical Dictaphone typing experience.
The Clerical Officer will report to Corporate & Patient Services Manager and is accountable to Corporate & Patient Services Manager.
