The Role:The Vice President, Technical - Powerplant will report directly to the SVP and Senior Manager Powerplant and will be an integral part of the established Powerplant Team. This person will proactively support all Powerplant activity whilst continually striving to deliver innovative solutions and providing first-class support to the wider Avolon business.
Role Responsibilities:Undertake Powerplant activity relating to a wide variety of Lease Agreements.Engine Shop Visit Oversight and Management.Maintenance Reserve Claim Oversight – management of Avolon's service providers.Supports Powerplant activity for the Avolon fleet transitioning between Lessees.Provides Powerplant expertise to the wider Avolon business and departments.Undertakes negotiation of contracts & GTA's within the MRO network.Supports day-to-day transactional matters with the OEM relevant to engine-specific responsibilities.Manages the AOG/Spare engine day-to-day activity and delivers proposals for creative engine management.Good understanding of the latest PPT technical information collated from market intelligence, MRO's and OEM conferences/telecoms, cascading the relevant information within Avolon.The Person:You will be driven, focused, and resourceful as well as being an excellent relationship builder. You will represent Avolon in a transparent and honest manner setting a strong example for others to follow. You will be able to articulate complex concepts and put forward compelling arguments and rationales to all levels and audiences within Avolon and the industry.
Essential Skills and Experience:Engineering Honours Degree OR EASA Part 66 licensed engineer or equivalent apprenticeship.A minimum of five years airline, OEM or leasing experience within a technical function.Extensive knowledge in at least two of the following Engine Types and applicable work scope planning guides - CFM/GE/IAE/PW/RR.Proven track record with Engine MRO GTA's tendering, negotiation, and administration.Comprehensive engineering background with an understanding of airworthiness regulations and requirements.Highly motivated self-starter who brings original thought, challenge, and innovation to solving problems.Direct, effective, and engaging communicator with strong interpersonal skills.Strong and independent-minded with the ability to express your views with conviction, showing bravery in confronting established thought.Ability to distil complex messages into key takeaways to support management decision making, summarising findings with impact.Driven, focused, resourceful, and self-motivated with an ability to think independently and work to proactively identify solutions to issues as they arise.Strong drive for results, with a focus on meeting project milestones and timelines.Skilled at compiling and monitoring project statuses, with the ability to present updates to cross-functional teams.Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills, capable of developing and maintaining positive business relationships to meet the needs of multiple stakeholders.Showcase a track record of delivering successful outcomes in a fast-paced commercial environment.
