Access Talent Group are seeking a skilled Clerk of Works to oversee the construction of a cycle scheme in Galway City. This role involves ensuring the quality of workmanship, materials, and adherence to project specifications for the duration of the project, expected to last 18-24 months.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Monitor the day-to-day progress of the cycle scheme, ensuring compliance with design specifications and standards.
2. Inspect materials and workmanship to ensure they meet required quality and safety standards.
3. Liaise with contractors, project managers, and design teams to resolve any on-site issues.
4. Ensure health and safety regulations are followed on site.
5. Prepare regular reports, documenting the progress of the project, quality control checks, and any issues or deviations from the plan.
6. Conduct regular site inspections and witness testing of materials.
7. Provide guidance and support to contractors to ensure the project is delivered on time and to budget.
Requirements:
* Experience in a Clerk of Works role or similar within civil engineering, ideally on transport or cycle infrastructure projects.
* Strong understanding of construction processes, health and safety, and quality assurance.
* Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve issues on-site.
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with contractors and project stakeholders.
* Knowledge of relevant Irish building standards and regulations.
