Summary:
Act as a front-end engineer responsible for the enhancement and maintenance of one or more Alpha/Charles River Development modules or components of an agile scrum team. Provide engineering troubleshooting assistance to customer support teams and other development teams within Charles River.
Responsibilities:
1. Analyze, design, develop, test, and debug large and complex software enhancements and solutions within Charles River’s business and technical problem domains including modifications to core frameworks and other primary facilities critical to system operation
2. Collaborate with Business Analysts and Product Managers to create simple and sustainable software solutions for complex problems
3. Direct problem solving for projects or major phases of projects to resolve software technical issues
4. Develop, test, debug, and implement software programs, applications and projects using C#, WinForms, JavaScript, TypeScript, React or other related software engineering languages as well as keeping abreast of emerging technologies impactful to CRDs business
5. Provide informed guidance and critical analysis of proposed changes during code reviews
6. Write unit and automation tests to ensure a high-quality end product
7. Identify ways of improving development test methodologies contribute to and related test methodology frameworks.
8. Conduct manual tests to ensure a high-quality end product.
9. Provide troubleshooting on large, mission critical client implementations
10. Engage in the agile software development process by adhering to and advancing the CRD scrum methodology, including attending all daily standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
11. Plan and coordinate cross-team activities groups to complete assignments.
12. Mentoring and guidance on designs to junior engineers.
13. Demonstrate more independence of design and development.
Qualifications:
Recommended Education:
14. B.S. degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or other technical course of study required. MS degree strongly preferred.

Recommended Experience:
15. 4-8 years of experience in .NET application development.
16. Proficiency in .NET client application development using WinForms, WPF, or WinUI.
17. Strong understanding of design patterns such as MVC, MVVM, BFF, IoC, etc.
18. Experience in developing multi-threaded applications.
19. Familiarity with unit testing frameworks.
20. Knowledge of dependency management and the CI/CD process.
21. Expertise in object-oriented programming in C#.
22. Understanding of secure application development concepts, including authentication, authorization, and encryption.
23. Experience in financial services, specifically in developing solutions for Portfolio Management, Trading, Compliance, Post-Trade, IBOR, or Wealth Management, is highly desirable.
24. Proven problem-solving abilities in multi-tiered, high-performance database applications.
25. Demonstrated ability to design and develop software solutions to complex business and technical problems.
26. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
27. Ability to collaborate effectively with peers in a team environment.
28. Minimum of 4 years of experience working with an Agile development methodology.

Salary Range:
$100,000 - $160,000 Annual
