Purpose of role:
This post is a recently funded 5th consultant Paediatrician SI metabolic disorders and will join the current team of consultants.
The appointee will act as a consultant paediatricians with SI in IMDs at CHI and will play a full role in the provision of an out- patient and in patient service within the metabolic service.
He/she will, alongside colleagues, provide a consultation service at CHI at Temple Street and CHI at Crumlin The appointee will give an opinion and advice to regional and local paediatric services on the management of patients as needed. The appointee will take an active part in the on-call metabolic rota and work with colleagues to provide comprehensive and seamless cover for metabolic patients at a regional and national level. The appointee will play a role in national metabolic clinical guideline development The post holder will work in close co-operation with the existing staff members to ensure seamless cover for patients allocated to their care.
In addition, the post holder will work flexibly to support and further develop and progress existing clinical, administrative, teaching and research duties undertaken by the team.
A key purpose of this role is to progress outreach services to enable more children to receive care closer to home
Essential Criteria:
Professional Qualifications and Experience Professional Qualifications (a). Registration as a specialist in the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical
Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council in Ireland in the speciality of paediatrics.
And (b). Two years certified postgraduate training in paediatric metabolic diseases
