The project:
Working with our major water utility client in Ireland on the innovative early contractor involvement contract (ECI) together with their partners to deliver new and refurbished wastewater treatment works across Ireland. The programme of work is unique, long term and challenging. The project manager will directly report to the senior project manager (employers' representative). This role is based in the north-west of Ireland.

* You will deliver and manage project plans from project inception/brief, through design development and planning, contractor procurement and construction phase in accordance with the overall delivery program and agreed project milestones.
* You will manage tasks and associated deliverables in support of senior project managers and other leaders, alongside the wider project and client teams, to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of the project.
* Managing the delivery of identified capital, infrastructure and wastewater network management projects with the focus on design, quality H&S, budget & programme.
* Managing directly, the role will liaise with others in the management of and engagement with a set of internal and external stakeholders, including technical services providers, contractor partners, internal and external project managers (including local authority project managers), asset management, asset operations, HSQE and all departments, to ensure project timescales are met.
* Overseeing the management of construction project design, estimation and project planning including all relevant statutory processes, procurement management and maintenance forecasting, working closely with the contractor and all departments (e.g. asset management, HSQE, communications, customer operations and asset operations departments).
* Managing the project control, including resourcing and service delivery requirements, ensuring contractor progression where relevant and approving all project actual cost applications & payment certificates.
* Managing the production and approval of project delivery plans, contractor plans, cash flow projections and earned value analysis.
* Managing the day-to-day construction service providers for capital projects, including conformance and compliance. Work with your resident engineer team to ensure all project drivers are covered on a weekly & monthly basis. This will include site visits to the live & planned construction projects.
* Supervising the project close-out activities, including commissioning and handover to operations and maintenance.
* Performing any other duties delegated by the senior project manager or client's programme management team.

You'll need to have:
* Professional qualification preferably in engineering (mech, elec, civil or environmental) or related project management discipline
* You have a proven ability to successfully implement and execute programmes and drive high performance.
* You have strong knowledge and experience in project/programme management, contract management (i.e. using major contract forms e.g. NEC3, FIDIC or similar), strategic planning, methodologies and construction delivery best practice.
You'll also have:
* Experience in managing large or multiple infrastructures, capital projects or programmes (ideally involving biological process or fluid management).
* Commercial and financial acumen.
* Experience of working on projects within large, diverse teams.
* You are digitally savvy and can build lasting client & contractor partner relationships and provide support to strong, motivated teams.
* You will have experience in project management ideally in the water utility within a construction or consultancy background and be hungry to grow your career whilst enjoying the opportunities Mace has to offer.
