DESCRIPTION
As the Regional Safety Engineer, you will lead the implementation of health and safety standards and support our business partners to drive safety culture in the responsible region. Some of the key aspects of this role will include developing safety requirements and monitoring compliance, delivering safety training, conducting risk assessments, and carrying out audits across multiple jurisdictions. Extensive travel (approximately 40%) throughout Europe, Middle East, and Africa is required.
The ideal candidate will be an effective communicator, able to send clear, concise, and consistent messages verbally and in writing. You will advise, instruct, and train company personnel on safety policies and procedures while assisting teams in incorporating and improving our safety standards. This role will report to the Global Manager - Edge Safety.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support the implementation of health and safety standards, policies, and practices.
2. Conduct health and safety audits of related facilities to ensure compliance.
3. Ensure compliance and implementation of global health and safety programs.
4. Develop health and safety plans for emergencies and business continuity.
5. Maintain safety record keeping and data integrity.
6. Perform data trend analysis to present to business leadership.
7. Consult and partner with the AWS H&S Program team and Legal teams.
8. Identify risks and partner with Operations and stakeholders to mitigate them.
9. Deliver health and safety guidance through daily interactions with stakeholders.
10. Provide safety support to facilities across other countries or regions as required.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
1. Degree in Engineering, Health & Safety, or related field.
2. Years of field experience in Safety.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Experience in collaborating across multiple legal jurisdictions/countries in EMEA.
2. Knowledge of specific local health and safety regulations in the applicable region.
3. High ethical standards with proven ability to handle confidential information.
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
