To support our exciting growth, we are seeking a Digital Game Designer to join our Product Design team. As a Digital Game Designer, you'll create engaging, user-friendly game experiences by wireframing layouts, building Figma templates, and setting up prototypes to showcase user flows and functionality. You'll design adaptable, maintainable, and easily re-skinnable game layouts that balance fun and usability.
Working on original concepts or client-driven ideas, you'll develop games based on existing mechanics or new structures, optimised for seamless performance across desktop and mobile. Combining creativity, prototyping, and QA, you'll bring high-quality designs to life.
This is a hybrid role.
Key Responsibilities
* Use your creativity to design games for a range of devices that engage and capture the imagination of the user.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, developers, product, and marketing, to refine and develop game concepts.
* Consider, plan, and detail every element of a new game including the user flow, UI, assets, characters, and sound.
* Transform rough ideas into detailed concepts, eventually implementing them into full designs with feedback from stakeholders.
* Make adjustments to the game design specifications to reflect developments as the project moves forward.
* Quality assurance (QA) the games design and final asset packs.
* Lead on the user experience (UX) design of the game, ensuring players have the best experience.
* Work both autonomously and as part of a larger team.
* Leverage your creative vision to play a pivotal role in shaping the gaming catalogue for our clients.
* Bring our games to life by creating exciting new concepts and improving existing ones that drive gameplay and keep users engaged.
Your Experience and Qualifications
* Expert knowledge of Figma to design game templates and asset packs, detailing the user journey within the game and covering all interactions and states to ensure an enjoyable experience.
* Familiarity with the use of Google Suite or equivalent.
* Experience specifically in game design is desirable, or applicable similar design experience.
* Experience in designing games tailored for F2P markets, demonstrating market awareness.
* Excellence in advanced visual design skills, including typographic hierarchy, colour psychology, interactions, with attention to pixel-perfect details.
* Top-tier problem-solving acumen in visual design, skillfully refining UI/UX elements to enhance both user engagement and visual harmony.
* Comprehension of fundamental game design principles, encompassing mechanics, player behaviour, and the design of gaming and loyalty/reward elements is a bonus.
* Familiarity with industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in G&L game design.
* Experience with managing and prioritising multiple projects simultaneously and ensuring timelines and milestones are met.
* Ability to adapt to evolving technologies and industry trends.
* Experience in collaborating with stakeholders, including team leads, developers, product, and marketing teams.
* You’re a pragmatic visionary, balancing the pursuit of excellence with practical solutions. You know when to focus on quick wins and MVPs and when to go all in for a polished result.
Location
This is a hybrid role in Ireland (Dublin) or the UK (London or Milton Keynes).
