Job Purpose This role is in place to ensure that all plumbing requirements are carried out to the highest standards with minimal disruption to the hospital. Your main duties will be to undertake general Plumbing/Mechanical maintenance on a day-to-day basis. Your secondary duties are to check plant equipment daily, to ensure its smooth running and effective use to minimise disruption to the hospital. The fundamental philosophy guiding this position is to promote and preserve the Bon Secours Mission, Values and EthosResponsibilities: To ensure that all electrical circuits are installed and tested in accordance with national rules for electrical installations and in compliance with E.T.C.I (Electro Technical Council of Ireland). To advise the Technical Services Manager of any areas of non-compliance.To ensure all P.P.M tests/checks are carried out on the fire alarm system, stand-by generator, emergency lighting systems, checking electrical distribution boards, testing of electrical systems throughout the Hospital and that above are all documented in accordance with departmental procedures.To provide on-call support to the Hospital after hours, as required.To ensure that all non-medical electrical equipment is P.A.T. tested before going into service in the Hospital and that serial number(s) and model number(s) etc, are passed to the office so information can be added to the asset register. To provide feed back to the local Head of Department on completion of jobs and advise the Technical Services Manager if there is a problem in completing a job.To follow in-house policies, procedures, and guidelines. To ensure high standards of work and good housekeeping. To ensure that work areas are secure at the end of the day.To carry out day to day maintenance duties, which are assigned to you.To assign duties to appropriate staff when on annual leave and advise the Technical Services Manager. To ensure work area is tidy at all times and appropriate warning signs and barriers are erected.
