Role Overview:The Health and Safety Lead will provide strategic direction, oversight, and implementation of health and safety practices across our international operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with local regulations and industry standards, promoting a culture of health and safety, and implementing programs that enhance employee well-being. The role will involve liaising with global sites including Ireland, Australia, Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands, the UK, the US, Canada, and the Philippines to tailor and enforce effective health and safety policies.Hybrid role - Minimum 3 days per week onsite at Limerick HQ Key Responsibilities: Health and Safety Strategy Development:Develop, implement, and monitor company-wide health and safety policies in line with legislative requirements and best practices.Conduct periodic reviews and audits of health and safety practices across all sites to ensure compliance and continuous improvement. Risk Assessment and Management:Identify potential health and safety risks within office, field and remote work environments, conducting regular risk assessments and implementing necessary corrective actions.Establish and maintain incident reporting protocols and procedures for managing workplace incidents and safety violations. Training and Awareness Programs:Design and deliver health and safety training programs to educate employees about risks, proper ergonomics, mental health awareness, and emergency procedures.Promote health and wellness initiatives to enhance employee wellbeing and engagement across all locations. Compliance and Reporting:Ensure adherence to local health and safety regulations in all operating countries, keeping up to date with any changes in legislation.Audit, prepare and present reports on health and safety performance and compliance to standards for senior management and relevant stakeholders. Emergency Preparedness and Response:Develop and implement emergency response plans, conducting regular drills and ensuring all employees are informed and prepared.Liaise with local authorities and emergency services to maintain effective emergency preparedness and response mechanisms. Mental Health and Well-being:Foster a supportive environment that prioritizes employee mental health, implementing resources and programs to address mental health issues proactively.Act as a point of contact for employees regarding health-related concerns and provide guidance on available resources. Global Collaboration:Coordinate and collaborate with health and safety representatives in international offices to ensure uniformity in health and safety practices and share best practices.Adapt health and safety initiatives to accommodate the specific needs, cultures, and regulations of different countries. Sustainability:Work closely with various departments and stakeholders to create, execute, and manage a comprehensive sustainability strategy that aligns with our organization's business operations, aiming to drive improvements in the creation of a healthier and safer workplace.Develop and implement sustainable initiatives as part of our Health & Safety strategy, aiming to balance our growing business needs with a socially responsible approach and focus on the long-term health and well-being of our employees and the environment. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field. A relevant certification (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) is highly desirable.Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in health and safety in industry, including experience in a multinational environment.Knowledge: Strong understanding of health and safety regulations specific to international jurisdictions, particularly in the software and technology sector.Skills:Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Ability to develop training materials and deliver engaging presentations.Proficient in health and safety software and reporting tools.Strong project management and organizational skills.
