The Role Were seeking a motivated Farm Worker to play a key role in our farm's transition to regenerative practices and in the day-to-day management of calves. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to an innovative, progressive beef farming environment and has potential to transition into a full-time, permanent role. The ideal candidate is a quick learner, proactive, and dedicated to implementing high standards in farm practices. Duties & Responsibilities: Calf Care: Ensure high welfare and productivity standards for calves, including timely completion of scheduled vaccinations and husbandry procedures. Data Management: Accurately record data on animal weights, movements, and treatments as per farm protocols and research requirements. Compliance: Adhere to government health and safety regulations and maintain up-to-date knowledge on pests and diseases. Weight Gain Management: Maximise the Daily Live Weight Gain (DLWG) of calves in rearing units. Farm Maintenance: Keep feeding equipment clean, maintain stock levels for medicines and vaccines, and ensure farm facilities are well-maintained. Qualifications and Experience Required: Degree in Agricultural science. Experience working on a farm or in a similar role is preferred. Knowledge of handling livestock and farm machinery is advantageous. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work outdoors in various weather conditions. Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a proactive approach. Valid drivers license; tractor-driving experience is a plus.
