Leixlip Family Practice is currently seeking experienced & enthusiastic applicants for the role of Medical Receptionist/Administrator on a part-time basis.
The schedule for this position is:
* Monday (08.30am-17.30pm)
* Tuesday (08.30am-17.30pm)
* Wednesday (08.30am-17.30pm)
* Friday (08.30am-17.30pm)
This exciting role provides support to the Practice Doctors and Nurses along with providing excellent care & exemplary customer service to our patients. Socrates experience is desirable but not essential.
You must have a minimum of 1-2 years’ experience as a Medical Receptionist or Administrator, preferably in a GP Practice. Full training will be provided upon commencement. Applicants not meeting this criteria will be rejected.
Key responsibilities of the Medical Receptionist include but are not limited to:
* General admin duties including scanning, photocopying, typing and filing.
* Registering new patients & creating charts.
* Telephone, email and face-to-face communication with patients.
* Booking and confirming patient appointments by phone or email.
* Liaising with doctors regarding patient queries by phone or email on a daily basis.
* Managing doctor’s schedule as appropriate.
* Processing patient medical records.
* Keeping reception and waiting area clean, neat and tidy and restocking clinical rooms.
* Providing reception cover for daily breaks/annual leave as required.
* Faxing/emailing results to GP’s/clinics.
* Supporting with administrative tasks.
* Invoicing patients and reconciling accounts.
* Point of contact with HSE & third party suppliers.
* HSE/GMS & other State Contract claiming.
* Managing & maintaining confidential patient information.
* Providing administrative support to GP's.
* Schedule appointments for CDM clinic.
* Taking payments and end-of-day cash reconciliation.
* Completion of forms.
Requirements:
* Minimum of 1 year experience working in a similar role.
* Ability to work under pressure & multitask in a busy working environment.
* Excellent written/verbal communication & interpersonal skills.
* Organizational skills are essential.
* Exceptional telephone manner & customer service skills.
* Punctual & reliable.
* IT proficient - familiar with MS suite including Excel/Word.
* Empathic and mindful of each individual patient case.
* An eagerness to learn new tasks and develop new skills.
* Ability to work in a team environment and also use initiative.
* Comprehension of email etiquette & GDPR regulations.
* Fluent spoken & written English.
* Team player who is flexible and supportive.
Desirable criteria:
* Socrates practice management software experience is desirable but not essential.
* Knowledge of medical terminology.
