Lean Coordinator
Our client is seeking a Lean Coordinator to join their team in the North East, supporting a leading Timber frame manufacturer in Ireland with plans to become the largest provider in the UK & Ireland.
Reporting to the Site Operations Manager, the main function of the role will be to develop strong working relationships with all levels of staff to sustain a continuous improvement Lean culture within the site.
Key Responsibilities:
* Create training schedules for all company departments, track and create reports on outcomes of all training, and maintain training records for the company.
* Train new hires on company policies and procedures and utilize best training methods for a specific purpose or audience.
* Gather and evaluate information from employees and management on previous training to identify weaknesses and areas that need additional training.
* Inform employees on scheduled training and track their progress.
* Recommend training materials and methods, order and maintain in-house training equipment and facilities, and manage resources allocated for training.
* Develop the Lean Strategy for the site with the Management Team and external lean provider.
* Serve as a key driver of change within the site, supporting Staff and Management by communicating the Lean plan to employees and helping them implement necessary improvements.
* Liaise with site Management and Key Operatives to assess current processes and identify process improvement opportunities.
* Continuously train and develop yourself in line with Lean Thinking Best Practice and Industry Best Practice, ensuring knowledge transfer from the external consultant.
* From time to time, provide cover in a production management role.
Main Objectives:
* Track and report progress on improvement initiatives aligned to business needs.
* Report associated spend on Lean Initiatives and submit to Enterprise Ireland. Experience with dealing with EI is beneficial.
* Ensure the site's Lean Visual Reporting and Communications are kept up-to-date and relevant, working together with site management.
Qualifications:
* A Green or Black Belt qualification would be highly advantageous. Project management experience is also desirable.
* Proven implementation of Lean Manufacturing experience essential, with 3-5 years of experience.
* Good technical capabilities, communication skills, teamwork abilities, and initiative are required.
* Ability to work well as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision is essential.
