Job Description
This position will involve the start-up, normal operation, monitoring & shutdown, and maintenance of clean utilities. The role includes WFI, clean steam, bulk gases, bulk chemicals, process water generation, boilers, chillers, chemical dosing systems, cooling towers, air compressors, LPHW skids, waste water treatment, biowaste inactivation skids and other mechanical equipment to provide utilities for buildings or industrial processes.
The successful candidate will be required to work 24/7 shifts, including day and night shifts. A typical shift may include observing and interpreting readings on gauges, meters, and charts registering various aspects of utilities operation to ensure that equipment is operating properly.
Key Responsibilities:
* Switching from automatic to manual controls and isolating equipment mechanically and electrically to allow for safe inspection and repair work
* Maintaining daily logs of operation, maintenance, and safety activities, including test results, instrument readings, and details of equipment malfunctions and maintenance work
* Monitoring and inspecting equipment, computer terminals, switches, valves, gauges, alarms, safety devices, meters to detect leaks or malfunctions and to ensure that equipment is operating efficiently and safely
* Analysing problems and taking appropriate action to ensure continuous and reliable operation of equipment and systems
* Cleaning and lubricating equipment and auxiliary equipment where necessary, using hand tools
* Performing or arranging repairs, such as complete overhauls, replacement of defective valves, gaskets, bearings, or fabrication of new parts
* Operating facilities equipment and auxiliary equipment, such as pumps, compressors, and air-conditioning equipment, to supply and maintain steam or heat for buildings and to meet industrial processes
Requirements:
* National Craft Standard qualification
* Minimum of 2+ years' experience in a similar role
Substitution of additional relevant experience for educational requirement accepted.
