Position Description
Permanent Finance Band 5 opportunities have arisen now within the Finance Operations and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) teams in Enterprise Services, where candidates are sought who are highly motivated, with a strong accounting and analytical background and capability. The positions offer the successful candidates the opportunity to work as part of a large finance team. Key priorities for Finance Operations and FP&A are the delivery of best practice finance processes, digitalisation, delivering business requirements and continued staff development.
Key Responsibilities
1. Period close, consolidation and reconciliation activities at Group and Business Unit level.
2. Co-ordination of the annual statutory audit process, engagement with external auditors and delivery of outputs to key internal and external stakeholders as required.
3. Delivery of continuous improvement initiatives and various projects within the Accounting & Reporting function.
4. Monitoring accounting (IFRS), technical and commercial developments and advising on their impact on the financial close of the Group.
5. Responsibility for overseeing and reviewing accounting and reporting processes, including ensuring that relevant record to report controls are operating effectively.
6. Prepare, analyse and report BU monthly management reporting information.
7. Analyse and report financial and non-financial KPIs.
8. Prepare forecast, target setting, budgets and 5-year plans, to include gathering inputs through engagement with the business, reporting draft and final outcomes and commentary.
9. Address ad hoc queries and decision support requests.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential
10. A professional accountancy qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) or equivalent with at least 2 years post qualification experience.
11. High level of accounting competency and strong analytical skills.
12. Highly motivated – ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
13. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
14. Strong IT skills.
15. Strong understanding of financial systems and processes.

A recognised professional accounting qualification or equivalent relevant work experience.
