Liberty Recycling is looking for an evening shift production supervisor to oversee operations in a clothing recycling facility.
Given the nature of the work, the Supervisor would likely need to manage both the team working on the conveyor belt and the staff operating the baling machines.
The process involves sorting clothes from a conveyor belt into designated tubs and then sending them down into the baling machines for further recycling.
This is a fast working pace environment.
The working hours are Monday - Friday 3:30pm - 9:30pm & Saturday 09:00 - 5:30pm The main responsibilities for this role will include: Overseeing Sorting Operations: Managing the team responsible for selecting and sorting clothing items from the conveyor belt.
Ensuring items are placed in the correct tubs, and monitoring the speed and accuracy of the sorting process.
Baling Process Management: Supervising the staff who load the sorted clothing into the baling machines on the ground floor.
Ensuring the baling machines are operated safely and efficiently, minimizing downtime.
Team Leadership and Coordination: Leading both the floor staff and those working on the conveyor belt, making sure that all teams work cohesively to maintain production flow.
Setting clear goals, delegating tasks, and addressing any issues that arise during operations.
Safety and Quality Control: Enforcing safety standards in the workplace, ensuring staff are trained in machine operation and aware of safety protocols.
Monitoring for quality control, ensuring that the clothing is processed correctly without damage, and that the baled items meet specifications.
Performance Monitoring: Tracking production metrics such as sorting accuracy, efficiency, and throughput.
Identifying areas for improvement in both the sorting and baling processes.
Training and Development: Providing on-the-job training for new staff and continuous development for the existing team.
Ensuring that all employees are familiar with equipment, procedures, and safety measures.
The ideal candidate would need to have strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of production processes, ability to handle logistics and people management efficiently.
