Position Overview The role of the Lab Manager involves leading a team of lab technicians and overseeing the design, setup, and execution of performance and functional testing for critical cooling equipment utilized in data centers. This position also entails conducting customer-requested tests, developing testing procedures, and producing high-quality test reports. Close collaboration with the design, applications, and electrical engineering teams will be essential to ensure all testing needs are met. Primary Responsibilities Oversee daily laboratory operations and manage the lab team.Maintain and service lab equipment, including chillers, boilers, generators, and control systems.Plan and prioritize the test lab schedule, aligning with project timelines, customer testing requirements, and resource availability.Lead the design and assembly of testing setups for HVAC equipment, including new lab test installations as necessary.Conduct performance tests on various HVAC systems, such as refrigeration, chilled water systems, electrical systems, and fans.Produce accurate and detailed test reports and provide valuable insights to engineering teams.Oversee maintenance contracts for laboratory equipment.Collaborate with the Quality Manager to ensure all laboratory instruments are properly calibrated and meet testing standards.Key Competencies Comprehensive understanding of HVAC systems and components.Hands-on experience with generators, boilers, and chillers.Proficiency in utilizing HVAC testing tools for air volume, power, refrigeration, and water measurements.Strong documentation, organizational, and project management capabilities.Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.A minimum of five years of experience in HVAC testing.
