Job Title: Graduate Metrology Calibration Engineer
This role has the accountability for the support to management and execution of calibration activities onsite across departments.
Main Responsibilities:
* Support the establishment of an internal calibration system, including development of new SOP's, supporting schedules for instrumentation calibration, maintenance and reporting templates.
* Work with cross-functional departments on the migration from old to new calibration systems.
* Support on identification and harmonisation practises in relation to metrology.
* Perform scheduled calibration and routine maintenance on equipment.
* Support of equipment installation and qualification along with associated documentation generation, review in accordance with all quality and regulatory expectations.
* Risk assess & review legacy equipment to ensure it meets current standards.
* Serve as a subject matter expert and point of contact for site instrumentation metrology.
* Work with Engineering and R&D team's to support calibration standards and maintenance schedules for bespoke in-house developed equipment.
* Liaise with external calibration and equipment maintenance providers to ensure adherence to internal processes and schedules.
* Compile reports on metrics internally and present to relevant stakeholders.
* Stay current with international standards and regulations to ensure company compliance.
Main Requirements:
* Third-level qualification (Min L8) in science or engineering, with specific metrology qualification as an advantage.
* Develop and maintain an internal calibration system.
* Risk assess & review legacy equipment to ensure it meets current standards.
* Trouble shooting/root cause analysis skills/attention to detail.
* Desire to work in a collaborative, team-based structure.
* Understanding of instrumental analysis in a laboratory setting.
* Ability to analyse data and make informed decisions to improve the system based on this analysis.
* Good understanding of measurement system evaluation principles and approaches.
* Advance computer skills (Excel, Outlook, JMP or Minitab expertise).
* Ability to collaborate across multifunctional groups.
* Good communication skills and the ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
* Previous experience in metrology calibration within a laboratory environment.
* Knowledge of QMS (e.g ISO13485).
* Knowledge on physics and optical instrumentation.
* Prior experience in ophthalmic instrumentation.
* Engineering mind-set with hands on approach.
* Experience in maintenance high end/complex systems for calibration.
