This role is an important position in the function, reporting to the Head of People Services. You will be responsible for providing ER advisory support across the Radius Group of companies within Ireland. This role is a stand-alone role within our Galway office but is part of our wider UK People Services team based in Crewe, Cheshire, UK.
Working hours are Monday-Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm. The role is office-based from our Galway office and requires you to be present at the office 5 days per week. Flexibility to travel to our offices located across Ireland may also be required where needed and planned in advance.
Your responsibilities day to day will be…
* Working as part of our Employee Relations team within People Services, providing expert HR advice and support and coaching to managers and employees on a range of people issues across all aspects of Employee Relations.
* Support and coach managers with long-term sickness absence within their teams. Arrange welfare meetings, occupational health referrals, advise on return-to-work options and capability hearings.
* Advise and support on cases relating to parental leave – maternity, paternity, shared parental leave, and adoption leave.
* Manage your own caseload as assigned, ensuring a quality service within a timely manner. Escalate complex matters to the Employee Relations Lead and Head of People Services as required.
* Attend formal HR meetings as a representative and note-taker.
* Champion data integrity within our HRIS, ensuring that our People data is accurately maintained.
* Drive continuous improvement and innovation within People Services by reviewing policy, processes, and documentation to ensure best practice and legal compliance.
* Act as a mentor or escalation point to our People Associates, providing support and guidance and taking over cases or queries once escalated beyond their role scope.
* Manage projects as and when required such as Investors in People, Employee Engagement Surveys, and other projects as part of the People Strategy.
What do we expect of you?
* Up-to-date knowledge of employment law with experience handling a full range of ER issues.
* CIPD qualification is desirable but not essential.
* Proven ability to navigate through a caseload of ER matters independently within a commercial environment.
* Experience of utilising and maintaining an HRIS, attention to detail, and ability to analyse data.
* Ability to plan and prioritise and keep to deadlines within a fast-paced environment.
* Ability to communicate effectively to build support for a course of action, idea, or business initiative.
* Ability to promote team cooperation.
* Desire to develop, grow and provide support, encouragement, and opportunity for others to develop.
* Consistently act in an accountable and conscientious manner, particularly if a problem arises.
* Ability and willingness to work effectively in a variety of situations and adapt to changing priorities.
* Effectively apply your knowledge, skills, and techniques to understand and resolve problems.
* Demonstrate drive and energy to achieve results and continuously improve performance.
