Persons offered employment will be involved organising the safe and efficient receipt, storage and dispatch of warehoused goods. A key element of this role will be the development of process and procedures to improve accuracy and integrity of the inventory records.
You must be highly organised to excel at this position, because every day means a new regime of orders, you must be able to quickly process information. You must also be a great supervisor who works well with people and can effectively communicate.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations, across multiple storage facilities, by implementing appropriate policies and procedures for the timely and accurate supply of materials and production kits.
* Ensure that production kits are presented in a professional manner, labeled appropriately and taking into consideration that kits may be used across a number of production cells.
* Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and implementing security policies and procedures.
* Keep stock control system up to date.
* Ensure accuracy and integrity of inventory data by conducting physical counts and reconciling discrepancies arising.
* Ensure inventory turns are based on FIFO model.
* Implement policy and procedure for identification of slow-moving and obsolete stock.
* Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.
* Manage daily operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
* Oversee and manage all operations related to the supply and storage of pallets and goods. Ensure appropriate safety procedures are implemented and adhered to in compliance with Health and Safety and Environmental standards.
* Motivating, organising and encouraging teamwork within the team to drive productivity.
* Assess skill set within staff and provide coaching and training to address skill shortages.
* Working with Supply Chain Manager, develop appropriate KPI metrics for the measurement of Warehouse operations and to track performance.
* Ensure complete compliance to prescribed ISO and 5S Housekeeping processes.
* Promote a good Health & Safety and Environmental culture in production area.
* Communicate with other departments to quickly assess, identify and resolve the issues affecting production.
* Conduct inspections of goods-in and implement quality control procedures to ensure that all materials are stored and handled according to company standards.
Person Specifications
Educational Standard:
* Graduate level position.
* Computer Application or Office Skills Training - essential.
* ECDL - desirable.
Experience:
* Experience working in a similar role desirable.
Key Competencies:
* Fluent in English.
* Computer Literate.
* Strong level of Competency in Microsoft Excel etc.
