Encapsulated Oral Vaccines for Meliodosis and Enteric Pathogens Applications are invited for a Research Assistant position in the Lavelle lab to build on cutting edge research on mucosal vaccine adjuvants. The successful candidate will work closely with our collaborators at Poolbeg Pharma, AnaBio Technologies Ltd and University College Dublin to develop innovative new oral vaccine formulations. Vaccination is the most successful intervention to prevent infectious diseases. For most vaccines, adjuvants are a vital component and serve to enhance innate immune responses and thereby induce and direct protective adaptive immunity. The ongoing COVID19 pandemic has highlighted the importance of mucosal immune responses and the need for innovations in mucosal vaccination. The oral delivery route is particularly attractive but challenges remain to be addressed to facilitate development of improved subunit oral vaccines for intestinal pathogens. In this programme we will develop novel adjuvanted oral vaccines for bacterial pathogens Please see full job description and application procedure below. Application Procedure:
